2023 Week 3
Minnesota Vikings vs Los Angeles Chargers
By Dave Morgan
I honestly don’t know how to feel.
I’m a new Vikings fan, last year was my first full season. I barely had any fingers left last year let alone nails, but just now it feels like I’ve found out what it’s really like to be a Vikings fan – it’s hard work!
Small margins
As ever, the NFL is about small margins (unless you’re the Broncos or Dolphins…), and those small margins haven’t worked in our favour this year. Straight up, the team haven’t looked ready to play, it’s been sloppy. I’m a big believer in building a positive culture and the impact that can have on performance. It’s part of building strong foundations, but so is holding on to the football.
The O-line has been porous, the pass rush outside of Hunter looks non-existent, and the defensive scheme doesn’t look embedded!!
Right, whinge over, I’m honestly an optimistic person!
The positives.
Kirk looks like he can make it happen if the coaching, scheme, and O-line give him what he needs. Addison looks like he’s going to be a weapon. JJ is JJ, could the Vikings go 0-17 and JJ2K still be a thing?! Hunter looks like he’ll be disruptive all season.
14-3?
Overall, I was expecting the game this week to be more explosive and much higher scoring, neither offence really showed up, shame the Viking’s defence didn’t turn up either. Let’s get some of that focus from the 2 min drives last year back in the room and go 14-3, that’s all I ask.
