The Minnesota Vikings completed their involvement in the 2025 NFL draft early on Saturday, finishing with a total of five picks across the three days. Three of those selections came on the final day, with the Vikings making their first additions on defense and one more on offense.

Their first selection of the day came at the top of the fifth round, as they took Georgia defensive tackle Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins with the 139th overall pick. Ingram-Dawkins redshirted in 2021 as Georgia won the national championship, but played 14 times the following year as the Bulldogs retained the title. His time was limited in 2023 after foot surgery, but he returned in 2024 to notch three sacks in 14 appearances.

The Vikings traded away their second pick of the fifth round, moving back from 142nd overall to 172nd in order to acquire quarterback Sam Howell from the Seattle Seahawks. Howell went 4–13 as a starter for the Washington Commanders in 2023, but fills a need for the Vikings in the QB2 role, bringing to an end a saga that has seen the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco and Russell Wilson linked with a move to Minnesota.

The 172nd pick was quickly traded to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for consecutive sixth-round selections (201st and 202nd overall). With the first of these, the Vikings picked Penn State linebacker Kobe King, whose twin brother Kalen was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2024. The second pick, the Vikings’ last in the 2025 draft, was used on Pittsburgh tight end Gavin Bartholomew, who notched over 1,200 yards on 105 catches with the Panthers.

The next step for the Vikings will be to snap up a class of undrafted free agents before making sure every single player on the roster is ready for the 2025 season through OTAs and training camp. This season’s schedule will be announced on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025.
