Minnesota Vikings @ Cleveland Browns
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, UK
October 5, 2025 – 2:30 p.m. BST

Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison combined for 240 receiving yards against the Steelers
The Minnesota Vikings continue their European tour this weekend with another road clash against the Cleveland Browns. The team fell agonisingly short of an unlikely win over the Steelers on Sunday, and victory will be essential at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if the Vikings are going to go into their bye week with a positive record.
Like the Steelers, the Browns are another team the Vikings have faced and beaten outside the United States before, but whereas our international rematch with the Steelers ended in defeat, the Vikings might be much more confident of pulling off a second victory over the Browns in London. Not only is Cleveland currently 1–3 on the season, but the Vikings are also 4–0 in regular season games in our capital.
A truly topsy-turvy season trundles on, and another opportunity for redemption presents itself for this embattled Vikings roster. Read on for all the important news ahead of this Sunday, including how you can catch the game surrounded by your fellow UK & Ireland Vikings fans!

Keys to the game

The offensive line has been a real concern for the Vikings this season
The Vikings have a real injury crisis on their hands in the offensive line. They’ve already struggled to put out a consistent line-up in front of either of this season’s quarterbacks, but with T Brian O’Neill, G Donovan Jackson and both centers on the depth chart ruled out for Sunday’s game, it’ll be yet another brand new fivesome against the Browns. A key to victory this weekend, then, will be making sure Carson Wentz can get the ball out of his hands quickly with a short passing game. Get that going early and opportunities will open up in the run game and for potential play-action later on.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Vikings will be hoping to see their pass rush terrorise rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, who will be making his NFL debut on Sunday. The third-rounder out of Oregon was installed as Cleveland’s starter earlier this week, after the Browns decided to bench Joe Flacco. Gabriel went 3–3 for 19 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens in week 2, but missed on his only pass attempt late in the game against the Lions last week. If the Vikings can get to him early and often, they might force the Browns to resort to Plan B. That will be difficult without OLB Andrew Van Ginkel, but with Dallas Turner in reserve and the likes of Jonathan Greenard, Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave beefing up the front seven, they might stand a chance.
Previous meetings
For the second week in a row, the Vikings are playing an international game against a team they’ve previously faced on this side of the Atlantic. You have to cast your mind way back to 2017 for these two teams’ first encounter in London. That day, the game was played on the hallowed turf of Twickenham, but the iconic moment was Adam Thielen pulling out a soccer-style, knee slide celebration after scoring the Vikings’ first touchdown of the day. With two more TDs from Jerick McKinnon and Kyle Rudolph, plus four Kai Forbath field goals, the Vikings came away with a 33–16 win.
Although the Vikings have a 12–5 record against the Browns, including a win in the 1969 NFL Championship that crowned the Vikings as the last pre-merger champions of the league, that win at Twickenham in 2017 is their only victory in the last three meetings between the two teams. The last clash between them was in 2021, and saw the Browns come away with a largely forgettable 14–7 win. It’s been almost 36 years since the last time the Browns recorded back-to-back wins against the Vikings; that’s a record Kevin O’Connell’s men will want to keep going with a win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
Vikings injury report
C Ryan Kelly was an early doubt for the Vikings, having picked up a second concussion in quick succession early in the game against the Steelers. His absence was confirmed on Friday, along with backup center Michael Jurgens, who missed practice with a hamstring injury. T Brian O’Neill avoided serious damage to his MCL when he left last Sunday’s game, but he is currently being considered week-to-week and will miss the game against the Browns. That means the offensive line is down to the bare bones with the continued absence of rookie G Donovan Jackson, who underwent wrist surgery before the team arrived in Dublin. OLB Andrew Van Ginkel was also ruled out for a second straight week with a neck injury.
Other absentees for the first two practices of the week were T Christian Darrisaw (rest), and TE Ben Yurosek (knee), while QB J. J. McCarthy is still nursing a high ankle sprain. Yurosek is questionable for the game, while Darrisaw was back in practice on Friday and should suit up on Sunday. OLB Dallas Turner missed practice on Thursday after coming down with an illness, but he was off the injury report on Friday and is expected to play.
On the positive side, RB Zavier Scott was a full participant in practice despite a knee injury, while FB C. J. Ham and LB Tyler Batty (both knee) have returned to practice after a period on the injured reserve list. Ham and Batty are questionable for Sunday.
Browns injury report
The standout appearance on the Browns’ injury report for week 5 was star DE Myles Garrett, who didn’t practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury and was limited on Thursday. He’s expected to play on Sunday despite the issue, though it will be one to keep an eye on.
The Browns have struggled for fitness on their offensive line this season, albeit not to the same extent as the Vikings. The continued unavailability of T Jack Conklin, who is questionable for Sunday’s game with an elbow injury, led to the Browns signing erstwhile Vikings T Cam Robinson earlier this week; Robinson filled in for Christian Darrisaw with the Vikings in the second half of last season. Conklin is joined on the questionable list by CB Greg Newsome II (hamstring), while second-year DT Mike Hall Jr. was ruled out before making the trip to London after a limited practice on Wednesday.
Several players were limited on Wednesday but improved to full participation by Thursday’s walkthrough session: G Joel Bitonio (rest), DT Maliek Collins (rest), S Grant Delpit (back), T Cornelius Lucas (rest) and TE David Njoku (knee).
