Vikings visit Bears in week 1, host Lions on Christmas

The schedule for the 2025 season has been officially announced and quarterback JJ McCarthy is in for a baptism of fire in his first five weeks as the Vikings’ starter under center. The former Michigan passer will appear on national television four times before the Vikings’ week 6 bye, beginning with a trip to Soldier Field to play the Bears in week 1.

In addition to the international games in Dublin and London that were announced on Tuesday, the Vikings will also feature in a Christmas Day divisional clash at home to the Detroit Lions, to be broadcast live on Netflix.

McCarthy’s primetime credentials will be tested seven times in 2025, with Sunday night appearances at home to the Falcons in week 2 and at the Cowboys in week 15, as well as another Thursday night appearance at the Chargers in week 8.

The season will conclude with home contests against the Lions and the Packers, when hopefully a vocal US Bank Stadium will help cheer the Vikings into a third postseason appearance in the last four years.

There’ll be ample opportunities for fan club meetups this season, with eight games currently scheduled for 6pm (UK time), in addition to the games in Dublin and London. We hope to see you all at as many meetups as you can manage!
